The California Contemporary Artist Catalog Project
A.G. Geiger Editions will publish a catalog of one contemporary California based artist each month accompanied by a related event. The Project seeks to determine if there is indeed a regional aesthetic underpinning a wide survey of influential west coast based artists.
The first installment in the series is planned for the Fall of 2016. Currently, a curatorial board is being selected. The Project will include a wide range of artists from well-recognized masters often identified with an aesthetic traditionally associated with the west coast to emerging talents working in a variety of new media. The Project will focus on the visual arts and not attempt to survey fashion, music or design. Over time the catalogs will represent a definitive archive of California based artists from the mid 20th century to the present.
As the board is formed and a strategy for executing the project is crafted, CCACP will update its blog on the A.G.Geiger website.
CCACP recognizes that no curatorial board can be aware of every talent in a community as lively and vast as California so we welcome gallerists, artists, art writers, curators and others in the California art community to reach out to the curatorial board.
